Happy 4th!!

Since Noah had already headed back to Turkey (and was consequently working his tail off for the huge 4th Celebration at the Consulate) I decided to forgo the big parade and such with the three littles by myself. Instead we opted to head down to my sister's house and have a nice relaxing day of good old fashioned fun with the cousins. They played all day, we went to the park...

where Jakey tried to show Porter the "proper" way to swing while on one's stomach-
look at that form!

and Ronan enjoyed going down the slides, again, and again, and again!

Miles also got in on the action! Luckily I had one red, white and blue onesie that would fit him!

We ate a tasty pulled pork dinner along with some delicious watermelon! Oh how I love watermelon! We then finished off the evening with sno-cones and popcorn to the sound of a dazzling homemade fireworks show by Uncle Ryan!
It was actually raining, so much of the excitement was viewed from within the safety of the garage-but they still had a fun time.

Who doesn't love sno-cones rain or shine?
Now, Ronan is still at that age that the fireworks terrified him- so despite our best efforts he opted to watch a cartoon inside…
maybe we'll get him excited for next year?
Happy 4th of July!!
Sometimes a homemade holiday is just what the Doctor ordered!

lol. Lauren is the same way with fireworks. Let's just say July was a rough month for us.

Great pics! It was a good time. Jacob asks when we will see Porter again at least twice a week still. He said he was inviting Porter to his party. When I told him that he lived to far away, he said he wouldn't start it without him - as if to say "we'll just wait until he gets here, even if it takes him a long time". So glad they are good friends!
