Kendra of Troy

Next stop on our journey was ancient Troy, of Trojan War fame and Homer's Illiad and The Odyssey.
And although, I'm not Helen I do think I'm awesome enough to fight a war over! ha.
Of course, not seriously, but I enjoy the passion that they have for Helen.
Nothing like a good love story.
And, I am my own kind of queen to a Spartan!
Now, we did our best to represent the ancient Greeks-
Spartans invading Troy! Oh ya!

This is the replica Trojan Horse that they have there for tourists. Also, Porter's very favorite part of the trip. Both of the boys absolutely loved getting to go up and play inside! It took us forever to pull them away from it.

Inside the belly of the beast!

Porter doing his best "conquerer" pose

Now, this picture isn't great of all the boys, but the only one I managed to snap with one of the Trojans in character in the background. They have them there for the tourists of course, but it was pretty fun to imagine a bunch of guys dressed like that wandering around. It was pretty fun being there and thinking about the history of it all!

All of the boys up inside!

Exploring ancient streets-
and Miles says- "hey, there you are Mom?"
He loves to point at me now-it's his thing!

Ruins and Poppies. Beautiful.

Ancient BBQ pit?
We had a great time, and are very happy that we made sure to include it on our itinerary!
With some MSU Spartan fans, a giant horse to climb in, stories of clever war defeats and 3 little boys-what's not to love?
