to do list

there are things I need to do that I have been putting off. not sure why, just can't seem to make myself do them. besides the obvious of blogging about my family's recent trip out here (that one is not so hard, I just have gotten distracted) there are a few more things that I need/want to have done that I am struggling with. I decided that if I put it on here, with more accountability I can make myself do it. 1. I need to shred a large pile of stuff. (first I need to buy a new shredder too, seeing as our old one was junk anyway and is currently in our HHE.) 2. I need to organize/download/transfer all of our home videos onto DVDs so I can leave a copy of them all in our safety deposit box. 3. I need to do many more Turkish lessons of Rosetta Stone before we leave 4. I need to scan/re-organize all of the files we have here into a better set up for traveling. (still working out in my mind exactly what I need to do. but do something I must. we have too much to take with us.) 5. we need to make our will and fill out "5 wishes". The rest of the things on our list are steadily getting checked off. These things are the ones I need some motivation for. Wish me luck! We leave in ONE MONTH FROM TODAY!!!!! Woo hoo!!! Istanbul here we come!

I know why you are dragging your feet...because those tasks are huge and tough! They are ones I always dread too. Re shredding- rather than doing it one sheet at a time (and breaking your new shredder) see if the Dept of Sanitation in VA has mobile shredders that go around to different sites- they do in NY. Or try to find an independent shredding co. When you figure out your filing system, will you share? I'm wondering about this if we ever get the call...I have so many papers!

One idea for shredding is watching a movie while doing it! :) I had a HUGE PILE also at one point before moving to Congo or from Congo, so I put in a movie and sat there and shredded. It made it more bearable but still not fun. :)
