Follow the Yellow Brick Road

If you did happen to follow the Yellow Brick Road that led from our house this year, chances are you would have ended up at Porter's School Spring Production of The Wizard of Oz! I can't even describe how cute it was! The children did nearly the entire production by themselves this year, including lighting, makeup, stage production, and costume design. They did a fantastic job. I was very impressed with how well it turned out. Above, Porter is showing his well perfected Scarecrow pose in the classroom.

He did a smashing job!
He nailed all his lines and really got into the character.
He wasn't even a tiny bit nervous, and there were at least 100 people there!
He just went out and went for it. I was SO proud. Such a cutie! He also preformed in three of the songs, and had been singing them for weeks. It has been so fun seeing him get so into it.

Now, if I was a professional critic my only complaint was that he kept breaking character.
However, I am not.
I am his Mommy, and as he kept breaking character up on stage to look at us, smile and wave
it. melted. my. heart.
It was perhaps the cutest thing I have ever seen!
He was darling, and SO excited that we were there to see him preform.
This is him during one of several such times-
My favorite of the character breaks was the huge grin and big thumbs up he gave us after he had completed all his lines! It was so cute, he was thrilled and he definitely wanted us to know that he was proud of his job well done.
Man, I love my little boy.

The headmaster and principal also got in on the action. It was pretty awesome. They did a great job too, and were terrific sports!

Now they actually had 2 Scarecrows (they split the play into parts so the kids didn't have to learn quite as many lines). As it turned out the other one was his best buddy Jake from Church! They both were darling.
Congrats again Porter!
We can't wait to see your next production.
You're a natural! We love you.
