Things to Come

Ronan was so pooped, he barely made it thru the door before taking a nap. Couldn't make it another step!

Today is one of those days where I am taking stock of all the things we've done recently, and what is coming up that needs to be done before we leave this summer. The great summer migration has already started around these parts with several friends already leaving post and some of our first A-100 friends already done with their first assignments. Craziness.

We've had lots going on, and amid it all I've been slowly chugging away at my to-do list. I actually feel like I'm doing pretty good surprisingly, but all the same, some days it makes me tired just thinking about it! On that list however, is the blogging catch up that includes many posts about some of our tourist adventures that I've been putting off -until I hit a lull in mommyland or collected more pictures, etc. In any case, I realized I better get crackin! So, I'm officially announcing the induction of Turkish Tourist Tuesdays! This will hopefully help me be accountable, and productive in showing off some of these awesome places we've been blessed to see over the last two years.

You can expect the first edition tomorrow. April 3.

In the meantime, I'll give a quick rundown of other happenings around here. Mostly for my sake. But incase you care:

1. Have been having fun watching March Madness, and now hopefully seeing our beloved Kansas Jayhawks win the NCAA National Championship tonight! Fingers crossed! This is also the first year that Porter has really gotten into it. He has been so excited, and had some fun nights staying up late to watch the games with Daddy. They slept in the family room and watched all night! too cute.

2. Survived another Secretary of State visit (well, Noah did and I survived being a rockstar single mommy for a weekend!) Bring on the overtime!! How to spend it, hmm….

3. Been preparing for Porter's upcoming Spring Production of "The Wizard of Oz"! He is the scarecrow-can't wait to see him in action!

4. Getting VERY excited for visitors to come! (our friends will be in town this week, then Noah's Mom and then my sister!!) it will be fun time.

5. Also, getting VERY excited for the Tulip festival!! They are starting to pop, and I am giddy with anticipation. Have I mentioned that I L.O.V.E. tulips? and Istanbul, well they know how to do tulips right!

6. Spent some good time on Shutterfly lately making photobooks- (thank you Ash for that new addiction:)

7. Been working on more craft and sewing projects. Of course. There is always something.

8. Going through my closet and the boys clothes sorting old clothes and toys to give to the housekeeper, etc.

9. Building puzzles. I build A LOT of puzzles lately. Ronan is a huge fan. We build them together all day long, every day. It is fun Mommy/son time.

10. Become addicted to Pintrest. I love it. It is wonderful. enough said.

11. Now to finalize and start to nail down our home leave plans. Things are getting real now. I can't believe how quickly this second year has flown by. Preparing my list of things I'm going to miss.
