The Great Egg Hunt 2012

A sight like this can only mean one thing...
Spring is here. Easter is here. My heart is happy.
Hands down, my favorite time of the year is SPRING.
I love the flowers. I love the colors. I love the newness.
I love the Easter lessons at Church. I love LDS General Conference.
I love the perfect weather. I love being outside.
It is all fantastic!

This year, we had an Eggstravaganza of a Primary party for the kids and their families at Church. The Reynolds family graciously offered to let us use their house and awesome yard and garden for the festivities! They live a bit outside the city, so it is so nice to take in a bit of country fresh air and space to run every now and again! Everyone had a terrific day. We had tons of yummy food, probably far too much Easter candy (oh wait, I'm not sure that that is possible), and lots of quality time with good friends.

Istanbul Branch Primary

Angie B. did a terrific "Resurrection Rolls" activity with the kids, while the dads were out hiding eggs. The kids really enjoyed the symbolism and they were delicious to boot!
The marshmallow in the center melts away.
Leaving an empty "tomb".
"He is not here, for He is Risen!"

Who's ready to hunt?
lots of VERY excited kiddos, that's who!

On the hunt-

We even let Milo get in on the action.
His eggs were pretty easy to find I think.
He did a good job though!

Surveying the loot

Miles enjoying the aftermath
"hey, there's nothing left in these eggs?!"
"That's ok. They are pretty awesome anyway!"
Jake and Porter
The Dads

This is one of those moments when I think,
maybe he is understanding what I say?
I said, "show me your egg buddy!" and he totally tried to show me-
He had a huge grin (that unfortunately is behind the egg),
like he was really proud of himself for doing what I asked.
I'm probably just imagining it, but I can dream huh?

Me and the girls
After the hunt we all ate, chatted, played and enjoyed the AMAZING weather that showed up for us. This was one of those days where life is good! It was so fun to just be together, and relax and enjoy. We all discussed how next years Easter will be so different for all of us. 3/4 of us are leaving this summer. What great memories to add to the book though for Easter 2012.

Nothing says fun like some good "Easter feet".
sidewalk chalk fun for my little barefoot bandit!
Baby Bongos-relaxing out back with Daddy.
Soaking it all in, and loving it!
Crazy ladies!
Love these girls!
Good times.

We are REALLY going to miss everyone here. It has been such a special time in our lives, and a special time for the Church here in Turkey. Memories we'll have forever, and experiences we'll be forever grateful for.
Happy Easter everyone!

stay tuned for more Easter morning fun-
